The Mountain View Spice Story

Our Story:

For years Mike Evangelista has had a great passion for cooking and he loved sharing this passion with his family and friends. Over and over again, people were asking what seasonings he was using. He started writing down the recipes for his guests to try at home. Finally Mike’s wife, Melissa, suggested he look into having these mixes bottled and Mountain View Spices was born!

Mike’s first batch of samples tasted good, but they were filled with things like MSG, trans fats, corn syrup solids and silicon dioxides. While these ingredients are considered perfectly acceptable, Mike started wondering how necessary they were to the final product.

Although silicon dioxides are found to be safe we decided to simply keep our blends coarser to prevent caking.  MSG, while it is a well known flavor enhancer, has also been linked to headaches, dizziness, and even chest pain! By only using the finest ingredients, Mike’s blends are naturally bursting with wholesome flavor.

We’ve all heard about the health concerns that come from trans fats and corn syrup solids, so omitting them from the mix was an easy decision to make. Finally, Mike undertook the sodium debate. He decided that he would use sea salts, which allow for plenty of salty flavoring, packaged in a low sodium product.

All of these choices led to the creation of the product offered to you today! Just check out the labels, the blends have all the flavors you are looking for with none of the fillers and additives. Congratulations on choosing a product you can feel good about feeding your friends and family.
